Stinky Point

Stinky Point gets its name from the abundance of seaweed (kelp) that washes ashore, especially in winter. This creates a  "stinky" smell and leaves piles of organic matter on the beach and rocks.

Spoon rocks is named from the shape of the sea stack. It is partially man made.

It was joined to the land with rocks in 1981 and designed to be an artificial harbour for a coal mine that was planned for the hillside, behind Pinny Beach.  It did not proceed.
