On the beach you will see Bongon Lagoon, a favourite play space for young children. In the past it would have been a significant source of water for the Awabakal People and it is still important for many animals and birds.
Streams along the coast like the one that feeds the lagoon, tend to empty in the shelter of a southern headland, island or platform.
Walk along the beach to the Southern Platform for an almost uninterupted view of the Extinction Layer.
