Erosion from the Munmorah Conlomerate in the cliff above the platform has dropped many boulders onto the platform below.

These are from the Narrabeen Period when the atmosphere began to cool. Streams began to carry sand onto the Dooralong Shale in this area, forming a thin band of sandstone.
